Susan B. Anthony Shootings is truly interesting, especially with the knowledge that it was written in the early nineties and deals with a series of sniper attacks in the DC area, not to be confused with the "Beltway Sniper," but very forward looking in its projection of such a tactic for achieving a radical end.Filled with well developed characters, all of whom are believable and easily envisioned, author Lee Raudonis weaves a plot that is suspenseful but practical, culminating in a "can't wait to find out" climax. The story clearly combines many of the real life experiences of the author and cleverly mixes politics, the law and greed into a solid portrayal of how money and power are so easily combined for devious ends.Detective Charlie Snider and reporter Laura Brady are the kind of folks you would hope to have solving and making news of a series of shootings and murders ravaging your town. Their love affair is borderline "old fashioned" and keeps the reader as intrigued while developing as does the murder mystery itself. The suspects are all truly "suspects" and until the end, anyone of them could be guilty. The plot is tight with no loose ends and the prose carries very nicely. I highly recommend this book, especially if you have a love of politics and legal entanglements. You will not be disappointed.
A Great Read

I found the book to be a fascinating combination of engaging characters, interesting plot, and sharply depicted settings, particularly in and around Washington, D.C. - which almost becomes a "character" in the book itself. My growing interest in seeing the crimes solved closely paralleled the charming development of the romance between two of the main characters. It's not often an author can engage you simultaneously in mystery and romance, but Lee Raudonis brings it off. When you add in the pitch perfect description of the Washington scene and the interaction between the political and association worlds there, the whole concoction makes for a most enjoyable read.
