Surviving Columbine: How Faith Helps Us Find Peace When Tragedy Strikes

The gunshots started to get louder, and I realized they were coming to our section of the library. The shots stopped as they came to our table and set their weapons on the top. My heart was pounding.... This description may be from another edition of this product.

NOT sensationalistic, but realistic. EXCELLENT

This is not about the details of what happened, as much as it is about how several Christian students used their faith in God to overcome the aftermath of this terrible tragedy. Suitable for all audiences and a real uplifting story. I highly recommend it!

Personal accounts

I'm really interested in Columbine and have many books about it.So I had to buy this one.Although the accounts were very dramatic and gripping, and although I found the book intriguing, it didn't grab my attention like I thought it would. The book offered up a couple of anecdotes about Eric and Dylan the day of the shooting that I did not know. And to me those were the most fascinating parts. The book is inspiring however and I commend all 3 authors for writing a book with a positive and encouraging message and relating their experiences.

Heartfelt

Well, it was amazing. I know personally of one of the contributors of this book, Elder Michael Johnson, I was a companion with him in the Santa Rosa mission for 6 weeks and can tell you that he is a very courageous young man. I have tried to stay in contact with him but I guess he has since changed his phone # and I am unaware of ow else to reach him. He knows who I am, Elder JD Clark. It was amazing serving with him because we both have had life changing events in our lives, and we could both bear a strong testimony to the importance of life. If you have any way of contacting him I would really like to get a hold of him. Thanks.

Excellent personal story

This book brings the Columbine tragedy home. I thought I was tired of hearing any more of what happened that day -- It makes me sick -- but reading the personal reaactions of these three participant/victims -- and especially how they have come away all the stronger for the experience, makes for uplifting reading. I shed a few tears, but thoroughly enjoyed the book. I'd recommend it to anyone, any age from teen to grandparent (which I am), and especially anyone who may need a lift.

A remarkable testimony of faith and hope

The Columbine shootings were a horrific event to be sure. But this book is more about the faith and hope that helped these kids survive Columbine than about the gory details of the day. I was impressed with Amber's story of endurance and recovery. I was touched reading about the miracles Miike experienced in the hospital. The editor (and Columbine survivor) Liz did a fine job of weaving the stories together to present an engaging and touching tribute to those who died--and those who lived.
