The texts were compiled by Andronicus of Rhodes in the first century BCE and represent some of Aristotle's most influential ideas. Constantine VII Porphyrogenitus, a Byzantine emperor, was interested in the works of Aristotle and is known to have commissioned copies of the Supplementum Aristotelicum.
