fun book for 8-yr-old girl

My 8 year-old daughter checked this book out of her school library and loved it. We do use our local library a lot for normal storybooks, chapter books, etc. but this was the kind of book I know she'd look at often and refer back to over time. So I bought this for her for Christmas and she loves it. This book contains pictures and information on superstars - one photo and one page for stats for each person. The information on each person is Age, Birthdate, Birthplace and Birth Name. They also highlight notable achievements (4 or so bullet-points about their career and one "Super Stat" which seems to summarize who they are in their field.) It includes about 60 "Entertainment" celebrities (eg. Miley Cyrus, David Cook, Johnny Depp, Zac Efron, Dakota Fanning, Fergie, America Ferrera, Katie Holmes, Vanessa Hudgens, Angelina Jolie, Jonas Brothers, Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Ashton Kutcher, JK Rowling, John Grisham, Steven Spielberg, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood.) It includes about 50 "Sports" stars (eg. Lance Armstrong, David Beckham, Kobe Bryant, Lindsay Davenport, Mia Hamm, LeBron James, Derek Jeter, Shawn Johnson, Michael Jordan, the Manning brothers, Phil Mickelson, Tiger, Shaq, Danica Patrick, Michael Phelps, Emmitt Smith, Williams sisters.) She is very happy with the book and picks it up often so overall I'm very happy with this purchase. I'd recommend it as a gift for anybody who is into celebrity / entertainment news and such (most notably for kids/tweens/teens as the written part is not in-depth or lengthy.)

Superstar Stat Book

Very interesting. Will be a christmas present for my 11 year old. He will love it...great info for kids to read about and just get into a book!
