In this book of the series we find the Turbo Cowboys in pretty good straits. They have a home, friends, enough food, gasoline to burn for a life time and seemingly no problem in the world.Unfortunetly, Their friend the Mecca Man isn't nearly so lucky. The first of the Turbo Cowboys' friends and arguably their best, has recently been attacked at his home by corrupt government hunters. They took everything he has and carted him off as well. The cowboys arrive late to the scene by as much as a day or two. Tracker, the last surviving Yavapai indian and member manages to track down where he was taken to and the cowboys ride off to save him headstrong and hasty. They get creamed. The renegade Government hunters are equipped with the best weaponry that this post-apocolyptic world has to offer and to top that, they have the Mecca Man as a hostage. The boys have no better weaponry than a crossbow and their hands, and of course their motorbikes. In my mind this was the best book of the series that I had been able to read. Clearly the underdogs in this fight the Turbo Cowboys have to overcome an overwhelming force and risk their lives to save their oldest friend. The danger and excitement were high and the action intense. However, the book gets four stars just like the others I reviewed, for the same reason. The book is an easy read and on the short side, but entertaining nonetheless.
