Collection of Sun & Moon legends, lore, and myth from cultures around the world (mostly ancient)

This is a broad and unique collection of stories, most of which you probably have never seen before. And this is appropriate for all ages - eac story is presented in 2-4 pages, an easy/quick read for adults, but this would be a perfect text for children 10+. True, the the author does not reprint any original texts here - instead, you get summaries and stories. And there's good reason for this: many of these stories are verbal only (no written texts), and some of these written texts are thousands of pages long. What you get here is a condensed version - I too was yearning for more information on a lot of these. But you must give this book its due credit - this is a pretty amazing accomplishment to fit 53 faith traditions and condense thousands (possibly tens of thousands?) of pages of religious and folklore texts into one, easy-to-read volume. Chapters include stories, mythology, and lore from: Aboriginals, Celtic, Pagan, Pre-history Goddess Religions, Aztec, Mayan, Incan, Ancient European, Korean, Japan, China, Greek, Egyptian, Wiccan, German, Arapaho, Cherokee, India, Norwegian, Baltic, Fiji, Melanesia, Polynesia, & Easter Islands, Greenland, and many more. Time periods covered include: Pre-history, Age of Discovery, Ancient history, Classical antiquity, Early Modern, Enlightenment, Golden ages, Late Antiquity, Early Middle Ages, High Middle Ages, Late Middle Ages, Vedic civilizations, Viking eras, Renaissance, and more. I give it 4 out of 5, because I wish there were more. But my suggestion is, if you see something in here that makes you curious, look it up on Wiki or pick up a specialty book on that particular subject.
