Fantastic.

This book will definitely help you pass the exams (three total). Very informative and easy to read and understand. There are a lot of practice questions that are helpful when it comes to comparing them to the test. I passed all three tests on the first try in the 90 percentile on each. Highly recommend this book.

I passed!!!

I just came from passing the Solaris 9 system administrator certification exam. Without this book, I would have been completely lost. It covers all of the material that I took in one of my training courses, and I use it every day at work as a reference book. The best chapter was on NTP - I had no clue you could do so much with time!

Hats off to McGraw and the author for providing a spirited overview of Solaris certification. I've just passed my exam after years of procrastination - I found the sections on LDAP and IPv6 most useful for an old timer such as myself. You can teach an old *NIX dog new tricks after all. No printing coverage though - but a friend tells me the Solaris 8 book did cover it?

Excellent technical quality, easy to read, pointers to further reading and great examples. What more could I ask for? I think some of the reviewers here have been reading a different book to me!

I am really shocked by some of these reviews. Maybe because I am experienced in Solaris I don't need baby talking books. This book has a good CD with questions, extra tests on the publisher website, and coverage of all exams. I liked it much.
