Book Overview

A NEW BEGINNING: Hollywood actor Dayne Matthews and Katy Hart are married and living in Bloomington, Ind., where Dayne has found a solution to his on-camera love scenes--he wants Katy to star in his next film. Katy wins the part and is cast opposite her super-star husband. The story of a small town girl's dream come true is too much for the press to resist, and in an effort to appease them, the couple agrees to a 12-episode reality show. It seems...

Get your tiisues ready!

This books was a gripper in many respects. I poured tears as I read the test of Ashley Baxter Blake's baby girl, Sarah Marie, and all thru her pregnancy and all she faced. Having gone thru a similar situation with my own daughter, I could truly relate to the story line. Chapter 29 was my favorite, using 1 Kings 19 story as Ashley's whisper from God that she desperately needed. What a beautiful show of love the Baxter family had at the hospital room of Ashley for the birth of Sarah. Heartfelt and a good read!

Wonderful!

This book, like the rest of this series, leaves you wanting more. Such a wonderful story, and a great writing style, make this an touching book. I am and will probably always be a fan of Karen Kingsbury!

Her most emotionally gripping story yet!

Karen has done it again! She's hooked me on her series. Now I've finished Summer and am awaiting the next installment in early 2008 and I'm going to be thinking about this story all the time until I find out what happens next. There are just enough loose ends to make you crave the next book and enough issues resolved that you don't want to throw the book at the wall. This story was a sad one but also very touching and healing. The author did a great job drawing me in to the story and I felt the emotion. She is truly an expert at making your heart connect with her characters. I want to be a Baxter. They have an awesome, yet realistic family with real-life problems. One of the underlying themes of this book is the importance of communication. The author shows the fallout when people close off their hearts to each other and she also shows the beauty of allowing God's will and not fighting it. This was one of the most emotionally touching stories Kingsbury has written. Highly recommended.

Summer

I have read many of Karen Kingsbury's books and enjoyed Every one of them. Was good to read this one which updated us on the Baxter family and can hardly wait for the next one. She is a wonderful, inspiring author.

Awesome

Awesome book!! I would recommend this series to anyone that loves inspirational books. Karen Kingsbury is a great writer and I love her books.

Absolutely Incredible

I agree with the person who said Karen Kingsbury out did herself in this one. I was tryng to read this book slowly, because I recently discovered Christian Fiction about 4-5 months ago. I feel like God brought Karen and her "life-changing" books into my life for a definite reason. So, I was trying to read it slow, because waiting for the next book to be published just "kills" me. Since I am a new reader, I got spoiled by being introduced to the Baxters only a few months ago and I constantly read and read to catch up. Once I finished one book, I already had the other waiting on the nightstand. Now that I am caught up, I don't know how you guys do it waiting for months to see what happens next...I am only just learning to deal with it. Anyhow, when I started reading, I could have sworn I knew how it would end...I would have bet money on it if I were a bettin' woman, but to my surprise and regret, I had no idea what a ride I was in for. This has be one of the best books I have read of hers. It truly touched my soul...and my life and thinking did indeed change as a result. As far as reading it slowly, I gave that up by the third night. I stayed up until 3am, crying like I haven't cried in a very long time. Great, great, great!!!! I wish someone like FoxFaith would take on the task of turning the Baxters (from book 1 on) into a series drama for Christian and non-christians alike. These books may say "Fiction", but the situations are REAL.
