Book Overview

Spring 1802, and the Peace Treaty of Amiens, signed only a few weeks earlier, is already showing signs of collapse. Britain and France wrangle over the return of colonial possessions won and lost during their long, bloody war and in the little 64-gun Achates, Vice-Admiral Richard Bolitho sails for America and the Caribbean.

You will like Kent.

I had not heard of Alexander Kent until I complained at a book store that they had no copies of Patrick O'Brian's books. The owner said, "Have you read any of Alexander Kent?" I had not, and that began a wonderful new adventure. Kent writes naval stories about the same historical time period as O'Brian, but Kent often has more action scenes, which I thoroughly enjoy. If you like O'Brian, you will love Kent. Prentice Kinser III, D.Min., Author of:Limitless Living, A Guide to Unconventional Spiritual Exploration and Growth

Success to the Brave

This is a Genre which I have always enjoyed. Alexander Kent Weaves an interesting and exciting story of early 19th century naval history.

Success to the Brave

In the tradition of Alexander Kent this book is no less exciting than any other in the extensive story of Richard Bolitho. You will learn to love it's characters as real friends. Feel their pain and joy. Swelter on a blistering deck at sea or feel the friged, icy waters penetrate to you skin. Smell the smoke of cannon fire and hear the crack of breaking spars in the heat of battle. Don't miss a single episode in this series!

Success to The Brave/ Alexander Kent

All the books in the series are delightful. The picture of life on old sailing vessels is very realistic. Although the book is fiction, it touches on history of the period. I have read 22 of the 26 in the series and loved all of them. Compares favorably with Patrick O Brian's sailing ship adventure series.

KENT HOLDS TRUE TO HIS KNOWLEDGE OF THE THE ROYAL NAVY

KENT DOSENT LEAVE OUT ANY DETAIL IN MAKING THI A GREAT BOOK. i HAD TO BORROW THIS BOOK FROM THE LIBRARY,IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE THIS SERIES PUBLISHED AGAIN. MUCH BETTER THAN P. O-BRIEN. KENT HAS THE STYLE OF C.S.FORESTER.
