This test is for international English language teachers. Its only purpose is to identify their subject knowledge training needs.There are 60 questions carefully designed to represent the minimum standard of knowledge required by an English language teacher, where English is being taught as a foreign language (EFL) at secondary level.The question types are cross-referenced and randomised to avoid a false negative result. In other words, if you correctly answer question types in one part of the test but incorrectly answer the same question types in another part of the test, this may not indicate lack of knowledge.The authors acknowledge that all skills are not tested. For example, punctuation has not been included because of the wide variation in practices between native speaker countries.
