INSTANTLY USABLE, quick jumpstart into CSS, JavaScript

This is one of the best written computer books I've read, and I read a lot of them. Humorous, clear and practical. Not a reference on DHTML, but a "how-to" for those who want to get results quickly using the new browser technology. He includes ASP and (perl) scripts where they apply. For those of us who don't have time to read full reference books on CSS, JavaScript, etc. before getting results. I learn by doing anyways. Excellent job, Jim! Exactly the kind of books we need more of. Many thanks! Highly recommended.

Making sense of what used to be confusing!

I'll make this short and sweet. If you're a novice web designer and you're having problems grasping certain concepts such as Javascript and Cascading Style Sheets, then give this book a shot! It's clear and easy to understand example make it a worthwhile read to any novice web designer. Think of it as something of a good "Dummies" book for those who know a bit about making web pages. Give it a shot!!

A great book for anybody doing websites!

I review a lot of books, and I really like this one. The most impressive feature of this book is the annotated listing of the code for each trick. If you can read, it's impossible to not understand what Jim is describing. The CD that comes with the book gives you the code for each trick, so you can cut-n-paste right into your own pages. Get this book and his other book "Running Microsoft Frontpage 98" and you'll be all set to create most kinds of web sites. Definitely 5 stars!

Absolutely Great Resource to spice up your sites!

I bought this book at the same time as 2 others and found it very easy to read, search and use. I was able to modify many of his scripts to suit my own sites and impress my HTML programming class! I will buy the next one if Jim does another like this one!

Great for those who knows plain HTML and wan't to go further

I'm a webmaster at a danish company. I Wanted to go further and learn how to do all the fancy tricks. I feld over this book at the local bookshop, and I fell in love by the first look.It describes 15 different tricks on a very easy way. With the book there is a CD with all the examples you can cut'n'paste directly to your own pages or try to make them gp further.Even this book is from the Microsoft Press, it describe the diffenreces between both MSIE and NC, and there is examples for both browsers. The book is written in a easy and funny to read english. I have found a lot of new tricks which im exploring at the moment. It has given me inspiration and i want to further. Thanks to this book, I now have good basis to go further into: DHTML, JavaScript, CSS, ASP, Perl.If you have the basics in HTML and want to go furhter up the road, I will highly recommend this book.
