The Latest Compilation of Dopes in Action!

Leland Gregory has carved out a literary career by chronicling stupid behavior. He's cranked out over a dozen volumes covering Stupid Crooks, Stupid Politicians, etc. STUPID ON THE ROAD serves up 292 pages of idiocy on buses, cars, planes and trains. As with his other books, all published by Andrews McMeel, STUPID ON THE ROAD is a hoot. Paging through this 2010 publication, you have to shake your head at how DUMB and/or THOUGHTLESS people can be. An Illinois native, knowing his teenage son was running late for a tennis date, decided to save time by flying him to the match. Unfortunately, to save even more time, he decided to skip landing at an airport and chose to land at the golf course across from the tennis complex! A 32-year-old Maryland woman, traveling on a chartered bus, decided to moon a passing car. As she pressed her butt against the window, it opened - imagine that! - and she fell out and broke several bones. An Australian mother of three was so drunk she decided to let her five-year-old son steer the car; how do we spell c-a-r c-r-a-s-h? Unable to find a mysterious rattle underneath a truck, a Michigan auto mechanic asked a friend to drive it while he hung undeneath to locate the noise. Unfortunately, his clothes got caught up in the drive shaft. The truck finished the drive OK; the mechanic didn't. The tales are drawn from newspaper articles, police reports, accident reports, etc. from around the world. Sad but true and funny too. Recommended.
