Well-Written and Suspenseful

This story deals with espionage at the Panama Canal just before the U.S. entered WWII, including a plot to destroy the canal. One wonders if this is based on some historical fact, or is it purely fiction? Good characterization, good background on the canal and the ambivalency it caused among the native Panamanians. It helps in understanding more current events involving Panama and the U.S. Why isn't this a movie? Harrison Ford would make a wonderful Harry Fox....
