Invaluable to my research!

Dr. Aldwin's book provides a comprehensive review of the extant literature on the subject as well as the various methodological approaches that have been used to study the effects of stress. Her integrative perspective focuses on the need for researchers to acknowledge the bidirectionality of person-environment interactions. Dr. Aldwin offers this perspective as a theoretical guide for researchers to better understand the complex interactions that influence an individual's adaptation to stressful events as well as the wider developmental and social implications of adaptation. This is the most comprehensive and insightful treatment of the subject I have encountered in my studies of stress and coping literature.
