Generally this is a pretty good book once you get past the introduction which is tedious and written as though he is trying to impress us all with how smart he is. The material is well researched and presents a lot of good information but almost everything is based on economics and they try to find an economic causal factor in everything that happens in Asia. Overall, it is well worth reading for the information it contains but certainly needs to be supplemented with other material before one could make a comprehensive assessment of the Asian environment.
