Fantastic Find! I strongly reccommend this book!

I first found this book in my local library. It took me 2 weeks to read it. It is an easy read, but you need to set the book down in between chapters to fully digest it. This book truly helped my family and me. We were at wits end trying to figure what was going on with my stepdaughter. We found no real understanding with the school, therapists or doctors. This book allows you to view your child objectively, in a more scientific manner, in order to help you figure how to help him/her. The section that helped us, was the discussion of using medicine. We had all been against using any. This book shot down the myths surrounding the use of medicines. It mentioned that if your child had a PHYSICAL illness, headache or something more severe, you would have no problem giving them medicine. But many people get upset about using medicine to treat MENTAL illness. It's really for the same reasons -- to end your child's suffering. Thanks to the use of medicine, our daughter finished school with excellent grades and we are actually looking forward to a new year of school! Our child's behavior is not "cured", but thanks to this book, we are better advocates for her. If you are at your wit's end and have not any luck finding help for your child through your school, your doctor or therapist -- this book is for you!
