Fine line between reality and fantasy...

I really appreciated how this story conveyed the thought of that line ripping between what we know as our World and what we don't know about our Universe, Straight on 'Til Morning captured the intensity and angstyness of the teen years, yet also took the breath away from the imaginative mind! While reading this book, I kept thinking to myself "THIS ONE definately needs to be made into a movie, for the big screen or atleast for the TV!!" It reminded me of a mix of King's "Sometimes They Come Back", the movie "Lost Boys", with a twist of the Peter Pan movie version "Hook"...Yet... It was all it's own style and story...I actually liked it A LOT better than the above mentioned movies/story, in regards to the characters and story line. LOVED this one!! Looking forward to Golden's newest book "Ghosts of Albion:Accursed" !!! (October can't come fast enough!)

Fantastic read, let's have a sequel!

I loved this book and read most of it in one sitting. I loved the "Stand By Me" characterizations and the blending of Celtic mythology was fantastic! If there is one thing negative I have to say, it was that Mr. Golden should have left the ending open for a sequel. I wasn't quite as happy with the way things turned out when the children grew up and what happened to them, but that's how real life is anyway, isn't it? I still say that there should definitely be a sequel. There is so much more material in the Neverland world of the Tuatha Da Dannen.

Frightening flight of fantasy!

I loved this book so much. The characters reminded me quite a bit of most of my friends as a teenager. Christopher Golden really captures those long ago summers hanging out with your friends, getting in fights with the older kids and the infatuation of your first real love. It goes from this to an odyssey into another land halfway through the book. The atmosphere is perfect especially when they follow the directions overheard when one of the characters was kidnapped. As they journey into this strange yet dangerous world, you find yourself in a frightening sort of fairy land that is at war.Its a new spin on the Peter Pan tale but with a dark side. The fierce battles that take place and the way the book unfolds is fascinating. I found myself unable to put it down. To me, it never disappointed. It kept me hooked to the very end and I was sad when it was over.To those fascinated by fairy stories and dark fantasy, this is the book for you. Its pure magic from beginning to end. Absolutely wonderful!

Straight on 'til Morning: A review.

Chris Golden spellbounds you once again. His characters are really life-like, and nails what teenagers and teen love are like. It's a great book about friendship and sacrifices.I have to say, the battle scenes in which Golden writes are amazing. Never has anyone describe the brutatlity of them in a way he employs in this novel. The writing alone is fantastic throughout the whole book.I highly recommend reading this novel if you're a horror-buff, and his previous novel, "Strangewood". And I am definitely looking forward to reading his upcoming novel, "The Ferryman".

A magical paranormal tale tat is excellent

Thirteen years old Kevin, like most males his age, runs wild with raging hormones. He has a crush on an older woman, fifteen years old Nikki who spends lots of time alone with Kevin, but sees him as a friend, not a boyfriend. At a local teen hangout, Peter Starling accompanied by his brother Doug and two friends confront Kevin and his closest friends, but though punches are thrown, no one is hurt. Just when he finds the courage to confess to Nikki he loves her, she informs him that she is involved with Peter. Kevin tries to become friendly with Peter so he remain near his beloved, but begins observing behavior impossible for humans to perform. However, when he sees Peter, his cohorts and Nikki fly to the "second star to the right and straight on until morning", Kevin and company follows though he cannot believe that he is about to begin a fantastic adventure in Neverland. The mortal characters are young, but possess the courage of a hardened warrior and the wisdom of an Ancient One. Christopher Golden has written a horror novel with appeal to young adults, though older reader will enjoy it too. This urban fantasy is a clever twist on Peter Pan that hooks the audience from STRAIGHT ON TIL MORNING.Harriet Klausner
