Petroglyph spiritual journey

This is a well researched and composed book by two authors in petroglyphs, shamanic shrine sites and ancient rituals. There are lots of pictures and drawings to illustrate. The well arranged subject of shamanism in terms of hands and feet, female figures and symbols. They not only help readers understand the meaning of rock art but also inspire to appreciate the ancient world of man and nature. They advocate to protect and preserve these relics of "Native American Classic" - take pictures and leave only foot prints. They lead readers to tour the petroglyph sites in arm chair step in step. The Conclusion I I by Markus is impressive with the echo of Taoism (p.176): The worldview that supported the development of our current technology brought us impressive physical power but we have divorced the living system of life that has nurtured our species. Petroglyphs may reflect a deeper, more animate understanding of the world that we left behind long ago. This is a good book with a spiritual journey back to Native American Nature to enjoy.
