What a hero - he just doesn't know how to express himself. Luke Sontag is a hero worth knowing and loving. He spent his life raising his sister, Ruth. Of course he objects rather strongly to the man she wants to date, and Kelsey Manning being a strong minded young woman tells Ruth that he doesn't have the right to tell her what to do. Kelsey was from a well-to-do family and liked pretty things. Luke from from the part of town where you had to prove yourself strong enough to take on all comers. Well wouldn't you know that the hormones kicked in and two months later Kelsey told Luke that she was pregnant. That was about two years ago. So much happened in the mean time. They had a daughter and lost her. Both Luke and Kel were heart-broken but they couldn't console each other. Kelsey has filed for a divorce. Luke still has not signed the papers. And Ruth Sontag has married Joseph Ridenour. Kelsey is afraid that Ruth is suffering spousal abuse. Ruth is now 8 months pregnant and asked Kel for help. Kel shows up at Luke's trailer and askes for his help, Ruth is missing. Luke doesn't believe her at first but later grumpily gives in. The story is excellent [normally I don't like divorce stories with people who have made the wrong decisions and can't live with it] but this plot thickened and kept getting better with a whale of a great character hero and Kel wasn't too bad herself. And Ruth should have just shot the sucker [not to kill] instead of trying to change the leopard's spots. [I guess I could very easily get vengeful]. Just tells you how good this story is. To get so involved. Don't want to give away anymore of the story - but believe me it is worth reading. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED --m -- Another keeper among the many millions of books written. Now onto Ruth's story in MIDNIGHT STRANGER with Garrett Kincaid and little Eric.
