I certainly commend Ms Costa for taking the brave step of choosing to defect to give her children as well as herself a new life in the US. To say this least she is a brave person and she certainly had much to lose if her plan did not work. I am also glad that most of the US governments representatives she worked with during her defection assisted her and were supportive.
Here quest to reinvent herself by getting additional education to become a successful business women in the USA is inspiring.
I also felt sad for her when she comes to the realization she is not of the "elite" she was in the Soviet Union but is now beginning a different journey in a new country is bitter sweet. However, she goes on to flourish as an American citizen.
What I did not care for is a certain amount of whining I felt she engaged in regarding for example, what Master's Course (paid for by US taxpayers--Wharton) she felt was acceptable to her. Really?
