Mega Krunk review of Stealing South

This is a book about a boy of about 18 from the state of Ohio. His family runs a part of the Underground Railroad, so they are very used to running slaves up to Canada. He wants to go down south to be a peddler, when he is given a mission to help these black slaves on a plantation in Kentucky. So he becomes a peddler with a special wagon capable of carrying slaves. So he goes down South and makes friends with the slave owner, and ends up stealing the slaves from him. And this is the story of this boy and his life before the civil war.

A Story Worthy of Classroom Discussion

This well-researched novel would nicely complement a classroom discussion of the Underground Railroad. Rich with opportunities for corresponding map-making, the story follows 16-year-old Will Spencer as he travels from Ohio into Kentucky. With his peddler?s wagon, Will hopes not only to make a living for himself but also to carry slaves North toward freedom. A blend of history and suspense, this book is most memorable for the character?s commitment to noble, yet dangerously unpopular, ideals.

A great adventure.

If you like very adventurous books you should read this book called Stealing South. It is about a boy named Will. He helped a runaway slave cross into Canada. This runaway's name is Noah. He told Will that his brother, James, was going to be hung. Noah pleaded with Will to go on the journey of saving James, using an arrow head for proof that he is not a slave catcher. Will is taking cover as a peddler. He meets many enemies and a few friends. The rest is left a mystery to you unless you read it .

uderground railroad

Stealing South will teach you about the underground railroad. The book is about a boy named Will who becomes a peddler to help slaves get to a place where it's safe. This book has some funny moments and some gross parts. I liked this book because I enjoy learning about the underground railroad. This is one of the best books I have ever read. Even though I have read a few underground railroad books, I would still like to learn more about it. The author is Katherine Ayres she also wrote North by Night. If you really want to learn more about this book you should read Stealing South.

Two boys help slaves

Stealing South was written by Katherine Ayres. During the days of slaves there were two boys. One was named Will and his brother was Tom. One day, near Kentucky, Tom was helping a slave, Noah, get away from his owner. When they were almost to a safe spot they got pulled over by the slave's owner. Luckily they never found Noah because he was hiding in a hole in the floorboards. When the three of them arrived at the safe spot, Noah asked Tom and Will to help his family get out of Kentucky. Tom and Will agreed to help him. This was one of my favorite books because I think its good that somone cares for the slaves. But if you want to find out if Will and Tom get caught or not, read this book and learn for yourself.
