Beings descended from the heavens, creatures of power and intelligence. Humans named the new species the Stars. An odd bond was created between the two, friendship if you will say, a sort of mutual agreement to co-exist. After a few hundred years, the Stars had blended into society, deeming their ancestors the Originals. Stars handed down the Originals power, from one to another, their strength draining as the number of pure-bred Stars dwindled to nothing.To me, that's the way the world's always been. Stars were considered humans just like us. At least, that's how Mom taught me. Back then, Mom was worried about where 'Dad' went, and if she could take care of me and sis. But we should have been worrying about... them. This new city was built... the White City. One night, we were attacked, they came out of nowhere, swept out our numbers like cornered mice. The Men in Green... the Guards guided us into the city, pricked our arms, tested our blood. We made it in. Thousands didn't. Mom was apart of them.It's been seven years. I met some other orphans that night. We've grown up together. Tim isn't as small as she used to be. Damion and Cavn... they've become family. I'm still haunted by that night, by those memories.Never would I have imagined that I'd be so close to finishing my training and becoming a Guard for the city. We'd all trained there, promising to stay together. But that one day, that one day, he had to send me away from them. To this Deviant school... because I was 'special'. All the kids there had the itch to hunt me that they needed scratched. I was alone, back against the wall, all resorts exhausted....Then I met him. And then I met them.
