Reconciliation: the true meaning of Christmas!

When fashion-designer Mollie Williams escapes her fast-paced Manhattan lifestyle for Christmas week and heads to the sleepy rural hometown she left behind years earlier, the last person she expects to run into there is her former husband Padriac Delaney. Her reservation at the Rooster Inn has been cancelled due to overbooking, so she has no choice but to take up Padriac's offer to stay in one of his vacant rooms. Upon arriving at his house, Mollie is astonished to discover that her craggy, sophisticated ex-husband has set up residence in what once was her grandparent's humble, rustic home. It was very refreshing that the two protagonists faced their conflict of being thrown together in a respectful manner, rather than with anger, bitterness and resentment for past hurts. Through spending quality time in open communication, they rediscovered their love, reconciled their differences, and came to a new understanding about one another. I really enjoyed their positive and constructive interaction! In less than 100 pages, the author did an outstanding job of capturing an important reflection of Christmas.

Reuinted love at Christmastime

From the back cover: Mollie Williams returned to the small Vermont town that her family had founded, looking for the peace and serenity of the holiday season. Instead, she found the turmoil that went with Padraic Delaney, her ex-husband, who was waiting for her with open arms and a loving heart. And my review: This was a Harlequin/Silhouette reader service give-away that I found in a thrift store. The story was a re-issue, originally published in Silhouette Christmas Stories in 1986. I found it quite enjoyable, though of course, at 96 pages, much too short. But if you like stories about small-towns, reunited love, and romance at Christmastime, then you'll probably like book, as it has them all. Still, for being under 100 pages, this story was very touching, and I recommend it if you don't already have it in the original Silhouette collection.
