Great Read!

Reading the synopsis on the back of the book, I figured I wouldn't like it that much because I wasn't a big fan of Podracing in Star Wars. I was surprised to learn, however, that this book contains much more than just that. (Plus, the podracing turned out to be quite exiting!:)) Without revealing too much, the story is about a spyring working for the CIS. An important file is stolen and is in the possesion of a podracer. Anakin, Ahsoka, Rex, and R2-D2 have to find the file and stop Dooku's agent, Asajj Ventress, from getting it first. This was an exiting read. I only wish it was a little longer! (And I walked away from reading it liking podracing just a little bit more!)

Great for fans of the Clone Wars TV Show

My son loves this book. It's like reading an episode of the Clone Wars TV show. This is sort of a 'tween' comic book - the art and story lines don't quite equal the general Star Wars comics (Legacy, Rebellions, etc.) but at the same time, the lightsaber maiming and impaling keep this comic from being classified as "for little kiddies".

Clone Wars graphic novels - Volume 2

Crash Course is the second volume in a quarterly, graphic-novella series by Dark Horse and is based on The Clone Wars as presented in last year's film and the current TV series. In this tale, Anakin Skywalker and his young Padawan Ahsoka Tano try to uncover a Separatist spy by gong undercover as a podracing team. So you think - Well, Anakin has done this before. Nope, Ahsoka is the driver this time. As was true in Shipyards of Doom, the first volume in this series, the story in this book is interesting, the characters are familiar to us, and the book looks good. I knocked it down by one star only because I found the story to be slightly convoluted. However, I am pleased that Dark Horse is doing this series. The books tie in nicely with the TV shows currently on The Cartoon Network, and I look forward to Volume 3 scheduled to come out in May.
