Outdated but still very informative.

A quick note for those Star Wars fans looking to pick up this book. This book was written in 1995, nearly 4 years before the first of the Prequel films came out, so this book focuses solely on the original trilogy and contains some of the first details on classic Star Wars technology and locales. For instance, there are maps of the cantina from A New Hope, a map of Docking Bay 94 (Where the Millennium Falcon is landed in the same movie) the first diagrams of Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Luke's lightsabers. A detailed diagram of Darth Vader's armor. Maps of the Echo Base hangar. A lot of information that has since been replicated or expanded upon in later books and media. But this book is still worth getting, for certain, especially for the Original Trilogy diehards/purists. This book is probably the first Star Wars book to focus on such details, something that later books such as the Visual Dictionary, Incredible Cross-Sections, and Locations books among others would expand upon in greater detail, and most of them would follow the original details in this book as well, making this the basis for many of the books that would follow. Some details may have since been retroactively canonized (retconned) but it's still a great starting point and reference guide for much of the Star Wars lore as it relates to the Original Trilogy.

Star Wars Technical Journal

This is a wounderfull book for the hard core Star Wars fan. It gives technical maps of everything you would want a technical map on. If you want to know how the sublight drive on the Millenium Falcon works, or the parts of a light saber down to the power cell, this is the book to get. Please help to get this book back in print, it is really worth it!

This is a most have in the star wars saga, bealive me when im telling you that this book tell's you everything about the star wars univers, if you want to learn the basic stuff about star wars, don't think, just buy it.
