Star Rider is an exceptionally fine space opera.

Doris Piserchia tells a ripping good science fiction story in the fine old tradition of the space opera. A variety of odd charactors roam the galaxy, discovering themselves and their history as they go. The main charactor is a stubborn and talented fourteen year old woman who continually talks her way into trouble and thinks her way out. Terrific! Out of print, but well worth the trouble of locating a copy.
