This soothing, wonderous rendition of the Christmas story will provide joyous, happy family memories

Door after door was shutting in their faces. Finally they found a sympathetic innkeeper, despite the fact that he had no room in his inn, who invited Mary and Joseph to find shelter in the straw in his barn. Everything was totally unexpected for Mary, who was shocked when an angel who came to her and told her she was going to have a baby boy, to find herself on a journey to Bethlehem. Caesar Augustus had declared a census for all "people who lied in the Roman Empire." It was almost unimaginable that a child would be born in a lowly barn. Mary had to keep reminding herself what the angel Gabriel told her: "Do not be afraid, Mary ..." God sent a "choir of angels" to announce to the world that a child was born unto her. The shepherds found the little family in the barn and knew that the child was to be their savior. A month later, Jesus was taken to the Temple in Jerusalem and when Simeon saw him he immediately sensed "that this was a very special child," as did Anna, an old prophetess. Three kings were following a star in search of a different kind of king, but Herod, a cruel indifferent man, wanted to slay him. Would he succeed or would God protect this very young savior? I found this rendition of the Christmas story to be very soft, soothing and wondrous. The tone of the art work had a swirling magical touch to it and lent a lot to the story. This is the type of seasonal book that will be cherished by many families and brought out each December to be read several times before the holiday. This book will provide many happy and joyous memories for years to come!
