Using watercolors and colored pencils in your stamping projects

I was first introduced to this book when I walked into an IMPRESS store in Seattle and saw all the wonderful card samples that were created by the author of this book. A person would really have to see the author's cards (in person),in order to fully appreciate his skill and creativity. This book shows all the techniques that the author uses in making his wonderful cards,---step-by step. I appreciate the author taking the time to show the reader each step in the process, since, as the previous commentator said, the cards are "simple and yet complex". (There is more to the eye....). The other thing that I like about this book is that I've been a big fan of the classy rubber stamps created and sold by the "RUBBERMOON" Company, and many of the stamps used in this book are from RUBBERMOON. Therefore, by purchasing this book, not only will you be introduced to the author's style of coloring and painting, but you will also be introduced to the authors' delicate stamps, and also those sold by RUBBERMOON. PS: I just checked, and as of today (October 2007) the company called RUBBERMOON is still active and making stamps,--- should you be interested.

Watercolors and Stamps!

Great examples of making invitations & cards. In addition to the watercolor tips (don't expect a class in watercolors its more of an intro to the idea of using watercolors with stamps) there are also ideas on using your computer to print up words for the invitations etc. Colored pencils are also discussed in the book as well as blending techniques.

Excellent book!

This book was everything that I'd hoped for! Lots of good instruction on using watercolors, etc. I also like that all of the stamps used in the book are available at one company... which makes it much easier to hunt down. :) Very good book, clear instructions.

Instructions for simple and elegant artwork

As a long-time rubber stamper, I found this book to be a great resource for how to color my stamped images with colored pencils and/or watercolors. The instructions are clear with corresponding colored photos and the colors he uses are very pleasing to the eye. This is not a book on how to stamp or create a variety of cards - but many examples using the same pencil and watercolor techniques.

Happy to have bought it.

I only just received this book today and was so pleased that I have made the right choice about adding it to my collection of rubber stamping books. The cards in there are very easy to make -- the techniques are simple yet not something I would dream of that can make the end-result turn out so well. The author has chosen the colors combination very well. From the instructions and projects shown, I was able to make cards that look simply gorgeous. One section of the book mentioned about the use of ink-jet to color print your card and you can pour on embossing powder immediately and proceed as usual. What an enlightening piece of advice. Thanks, Dave.
