"I used to pray for somebody to speak out, stand up and voice the concerns of so many Veterans and their families like ours. Then I realized.....I am somebody." - derived from quote by Lily Tomlin, Actor The dream of every writer is to have their heart type the words for them...and, as the voice of so many Veterans and their Families, my heart would not stop "writing" until our family's VA story was told. My Husband of sixteen years, James Anthony Caldon, the Father of our three children, served with the Navy Seabees Mobile Construction Battalion in Vietnam in 1968. In January 1987, while we were building our dream home in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, our lives, as we knew it and dreamed of for many years, suddenly disappeared ....forever. My Husband was diagnosed with Stage IV, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma - certified by the VA as "service-related due to exposure to herbicide" - commonly known as "Agent Orange." Our young children were just 2, 4 and 6 years old. I am now in my 26th year fighting for my VA DIC Spousal Benefits since releasing my book in 2015 with insurmountable and never-ending paperwork. Two top VA Attorneys admitted the VA's over two-decade "Egregious Error" on 23 December 2020; yet, there is still NO resolution to the VA's "Gross Mismanagement." The VA still allows Federal Fraud by the Oregon woman who, I was informed by a VA Rep, should be Federally prosecuted. I will continue to encourage all Veterans and their Families - who each have their own story - to live each day remembering....through relentless perseverance for "Faith, Family and Freedom" your family, just like ours will one day, know, "The Impossible Dream" is, indeed, "Possible,"...Freedom isn't Free, and, "With GOD, all things are possible." - Matthew 19:26
