Ann M. Martin's The Mystery of Stoneybrook surely is a mystery. Five teens have their own club called the babysitters club. They babysit kids, now they have a mystery to solve. The girls hear about the house at the end of the street that is going to be knocked down. The house is supposedly haunted. During this time, Mrs. Johanssen calls the babysitters and says she is going to be gone for a week. Charlotte stays at Stacey's house. During the week, Charlotte and Stacey visit the house and see strange things like fire at one point and at the blink of an eye there is no more. That reminded me of that Stephen King movie we saw." Stacey and Charlotte told her friend. She told the rest of her friends and some of them decided to go talk to the owner. When they went, the owner, an old man, said that everything they saw was probably true. He told them some of the things that would probably happen when the house was knocked down. The next day the house was to be knocked down. Stacey went to go see the owner after it was knocked down. To Stacey's surprise, he was "gone." Stacey and the mystery of Stoneybrook is mysterious, suspenseful, and sad at one point but is exciting to read. At the end of each chapter, it leaves you with questions that wants to make you read the rest of it. I recommend this book for ages ten and up because it has some pretty scary parts that could scare younger children.
Cool!

Unlike Claudia and Dawn, Stacey doesn't like ghost stories. So when she and Charlotte hear terrible noises at the Hennesey house, Kristy makes an emergency meeting. Mallory claims that the house gave her a horrible nightmare like Charlotte. So Kristy isn't sure if the town is built under a cemetery
A Great Surprise

Years ago, when I bought this at the book store, I was surprised to come across it--it seems like it's one of the "forgotten" books of the series: hard to find and barely mentioned. (As it is, I'm the first to review this book!) But after reading it, it's hard to see why it's so forgotten: it's a great book!Stacey and Charlotte come across the old house that's about to be torn down, but creepy, unexplainable things begin to happen when they visit. It's a fun book that will give you chills. One of my favourites in the series.
