LaDage is a standard text usually found boring by students who are required to read it and fascinating by those who have made the sea their business. Those who have studied maritime disasters and are seriously interested in the why of how they happened should take the considerable time to read and understand the notions of stability and trim. The answer to the question of why ships with a center of gravity above the center of bouyancy return to normal stability when heeled over you have to be able to follow the clear explanation given.
