"Enter the world of Spunky; share his thoughts and feelings, his determination for independence, and need for love and understanding. Laugh with him, and cry with him." This description may be from another edition of this product.
This is one of my favorite books. I really enjoied it. My mom always tells me to read the books my grandma gave to me. I finally did to make her happy. I could not put it down!!! It was very sad. I feel lucky to have a copy. The book is so old it has lost a few pages!!! I think the book should go back into print. After reading all the other reviews I think whoever reads this will treasure it fovever. I really enjoied it. It will always be in my bookcase!!!
wonderful reading for pet lovers and even non pet lovers.

While looking for flea market items I came across Spunky by Dori Brink, I had it for at least 20 years and had not read it. I read it now because the picture of Spunky is just like my dog Tess. I right away got so into the book I could not put it down! I fell in love with that brave little dog. I was surprised when I read all these reviews about the book. I am curious if the author is still alive. Thanks to Jane for finding this site.

I found a copy of Spunky up in my attic when I was in Elementary school. I read it in just a few days, and it remained my favorite book for a looong time. I fell in love with Spunky and found myself wanting more at the end of the book! I wish this book was still in print because it is really a good book and I reccomend it to anyone who can get a copy of it.

I first read "spunky" when I was 8 years old. I had recently been separated from my puppy due to my parent's divorce. It made me smile again to read about a dog that tried so hard to be loved. He overcame so many obstacles. He was a "hero" and inspiration to me ...to go on and keep my chin up. When Spunky died at the end of the book I cried for him ... not only sad tears ... but happy ones. Please ...someone help me find a copy of this book. When I have my own kids someday I want to share it with them too. Thank you Dori.Sincerely, Debra :)
