i read the sportsman notebook when i was in school and now that i own h g tapllys writings again after a serch 40 years the bookis delight and i would recomend this renoun aouther to every outdoors the reverance he has of knowlage and way of writing of his great love the outdoors

Top notch!!

This book taught me everything I know about fly fishing. This comes from the author of the "Tap's Tips" column in Field and Stream. A rare jem! Horace Tapply is obviously one of the greatest fly fishermen of his day. This book explores fishing in Lake Winnepesaukee and the Pine River. It's handy size is convenient for canoe travel -- I can tell you my copy has fallen into the lake on a number of occasions! The author reminds me of my grandfather, who used to encourage me to get out there and fish!
