Suitably Splurched

I was a little leery picking up this book. I didn't know anything about dot coms, I don't even particularly like computers, but the teaser on the book promised I'd see good looking, young, "over night millionares" in pain and anguish and that sounded appealing. The book delivered marvelously. It's a wonderfully warped look at our current values. Through a specific industry Allard reveals timeless human comedey.

Couldn't put it down...

I didn't expect much when I started reading (I only got it because of the cool cover) but then I couldn't put it down. Definitely worth the 13 bucks and a great christmas present for any dot com/computer geek friends.

An Absolute Page Turner

Allard has created an amusing and informative insider's view of the heady days inside the dot.com bubble. All the excess, hubris, and gamblers' swings from euphoria to panic are cleverly drawn and nicely plotted in this "rise and fall" cautionary tale. The characters are well developed and Allard's ear for dialogue keeps the reader involved for the whole wild ride.

Loved This Book

When the planets are aligned, magic happens. Bill Allard is smart about the rise and fall of dotcom America in the way only someone who was at the center of that great bubble can be smart. Bill Allard is funny about the rise and fall of dotcom America in the way only someone who has spent the last three decades as a master comedian and filmmaker can be funny. This is a perfectly irresistible book.
