Tattoo You by Willa Okati Jacob Lee's lover Donathan is covered in tattoos. Jacob Lee loves them but his fear of needles keeps him from going under the gun himself. Can two men from the past help him conquer his fear and give Donathan the best birthday present ever? Tattoo You is heartwarming and sexy. Jacob Lee's southern charm is sweet and Donathan is a great guy. I spent a long while imagining what Donathan's awesome body would look like! Possession: A Soul Mates Story by Jourdan Lane Sabaan, Nikolas, Lucien and Peter share a strong bond. Lucien and Sabaan decide to show their lovers how much they mean to them while showing themselves how much they mean to each other as well. Possession: A Soul Mates Story is great. Jealousy, hurt and love surround an amazing story filled with well developed characters. The writing is fantastic; it really makes you feel, but Sabaan, Nikolas, Lucien and Peter`s shared relationship causes a lot of angst and it made my heart hurt to read it. Marginalia by Laney Cairo Bailey is a cutter. He surgically inserts body modifications inside of people. His new lover Quint works at a bar and has lots of body mods. When Quint disappears and Bailey discovers where he is, he'll have to go up against the government to get him back. The world Bailey and Quint live in in Marginalia is fascinating as are the vast array of body mods. Quint and Bailey are great, I love them. Laney Cairo's stories often mix a bit of science fiction with hot sex and sexy guys. Her books are always entertaining and Marginalia is no exception! Behind the Mask by Mychael Black Although Lance Shaw has interviewed many vampires, his interview with two thousand year old vampire Triarius, creator of the Inferi Brotherhood may be the highlight of his career. Triarius may have agreed to the interview, but he did not agree to let Lance go afterwards. In Behind The Mask, Triarius is a villain with a heart. He shows no mercy to his enemies but with Lance he is a passionate, skilled and tender lover. Behind The Mask is an exciting and intriguing story that left me desperate for more! There is so much more to Spiked than just tattoos and piercings. It is four stories filled with fascinating people, places and relationships. GREAT READ

This book was really great. I truely enoyed the stories, they made me want to learn more and look for longer length stories from the characters by the authors in question. I loved the glimpses into the characters lives -- and wanted more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blistering Short Stories

Just what we need: another collection of hot, erotic short stories from four of Torquere Press's best authors of gay erotica. Actually, I'm not being sarcastic at all. This book contains four very hot and enjoyable stories generally involving tattooing and/or "modifications" from four of that Press's best authors of gay erotica and romance. I have to add "romance" because several of the stories are more about romance than erotica, but since I like both I don't mind. Willa Okati's story is about Jacob Lee deciding to get a tattoo (which he'd previously been afraid to do) for his boyfriend Donathan's birthday as a way to show his devotion to Donathan. The boys are simply adorable in an "aw, shucks" kind of way, and their complete devotion to each other heart-warming. My only complaint with the story, and the reason I'd give it four stars instead of five, is that there is simply no conflict within the story whatsoever. The two guys adore each other and that fact is not going to change, either in the story or after its conclusion. There are no threats to them, no "temptations" to infidelity or anything else that would cause conflict between them. It's basically a story illustrating how much they adore each other; heart-warming and smile inducing, but not challenging. Four to four and a half stars. Not so Jourdan Lane's outstanding (five stars plus) story about the vampire Lucien and his demon Sabaan, his "partner" Peter and Sabaan's "partner" (?) Nicholas (a werewolf). Since Peter and Nicholas are getting it on hot and heavy, Lucien and Sabaan are both lonely and hurt. Accordingly, they decide to bury their differences and resurrect their long-buried love for each other (and screw like bunnies). Sure enough, their openly rebuilding their relationship and flaunting it quickly erupts into fights over jealous reactions from their respective boyfriends. I haven't read the earlier novels in this series, but I liked this story and I like Jourdan Lane's other work, so I sure will read them now! "Marginalia" by Laney Cairo may be the most creative story in the collection. It takes place in the future, when humans that can afford it have had "modifications" done to their bodies, either enhancing their looks or their libidos or their addictions. It is a time when human society has exhausted petroleum and other resources and when the corporate state has replaced the nation state. Citizenship in such a society requires proving one's usefulness to that corporate society, especially one's ability to make money or to be "productive" for one's corporate sponsor. Bailey is a "cutter": he carries out the surgery for the modifications that customers want, and he is a full citizen in Australian society (even if not a rich one). Quint is an illegal who was born in Australia, but who never did his time in the military (hence no citizenship) and has no marketable job skills. The two fall in love and have some incredibly hot sex, then Quint gets caught
