Reading pleasure

I discovered Frederick Faust stories some months ago - they are delightfully written - much better reads than the clunky, predictible, bloody Louis Lamore and the romantic pablum of Zane Grey. Faust's western had a wonderful combination of humor, pathos, reality - all wrapped up in a very readable "tale". Speedy the character is a work of art and a true non-"Western" hero - he never uses guns. Try also his "Song of the Whip" written under Evan Evans.

Very hard to put down once I got started. Top notch western.

Speedy is the story of an amazingly talented young man who uses his speed and agility to confound his enemies. This story is very fun to read and not a sentence of it is boring or slow paced
