Gourmet Dining in Texas

"Eating out is a big part of the good life in Texas - especially because Texas restaurants are some of the best in the world." ~Jolie Carpenter After visiting Texas, I came back with the opinion that the restaurants were especially interesting and the food absolutely delicious. This book describes an exclusive showcase of fine dining with information about the designers, chefs, owners and managers who make these restaurants an unforgettable experience. At the Lonesome Dove in Forth Worth, you can find deserts with artistic appeal. Decadent deserts are on display in the pictures from La Duni Restaurant. I suddenly had this sensory memory of a delicious cake while looking at the pictures. Rich slices of dark chocolate cake are sure to inspire your own creations. The restaurants featured are located in Austin, Forth Worth, Dallas, San Antonio and Houston. The address of the location and pictures are included and are sure to inspire a visit to many of these sophisticated escapes. What I love most about the pictures is the atmosphere they convey. The Rough Creek Lodge looks open and inviting with outdoor scenes and stories of food made from scratch each day. What you may notice is how the mood changes slightly when you get to the San Antonio restaurants. The mood is lighter, the art more whimsical and the settings very modern. The Sea Anemone lights at the Uptown Sushi bar are most intriguing and beautiful. One of the features in this book is the question and answer section for the chefs. What is their favorite food? What would they be doing if they were not a chef? What are their personal indulgences? I liked this answer: "Do what you do best, with the most passion and energy that you can and never settle for mediocrity." ~Jon Bonnell, Bonnell's Fine Texas Cuisine in Forth Worth ~The Rebecca Review
