A Must Read

If you don't read another book, read SOUTHERN SONG. You'll find romance, suspense and tension all around. Most of all, you'll find a story that will alternately make you laugh and cry. Sarah is a Special Education teacher who believes that the system in place at the school works. She loves her students and has learned how to deal with their parents when things go wrong. Unfortunately, the school administration wants things changed at the school. They've sent Mike Hartman in as principal and given him two years to reorganize it and bring it in line with the other schools. Mike's welcome to town isn't anything to write home about. His room is broken into right in the beginning. The teachers, especially Sarah, clash with him at every turn. The Special Ed students do not adapt well to being placed in the mainstream classes. And the parents? They're not happy either and he's definitely not ready for them. The tension between Sarah and Mike keeps you turning the pages. She's fighting for what she believes is the right way for her students and Mike is trying to do what he's been assigned to do. Somewhere in all this tension a budding romance begins. She fights it. Mike is still adapting to losing family. Enter Sarah's sister who throws a whole new kink into Sarah's life. Sarah sees it as teenage rebellion. Others, Mike especially, see it as something more deadly. When things go from bad to worse, will Mike be there; is his love strong enough to overcome his and Sarah's problems? Rosemary Laurey has written a book that grabs you on the first page and keeps your attention until the very end. Her characters are believable. Her story is real and timely. If you've had teenagers in your lives, you'll recognize some of the things that Sarah misses. SOUTHERN SONG is a keeper and a must read. Reprinted with Permission of Romance Junkies.
