One of my favorite SL cookbooks

I own lots of SL cookbooks and this is definitely one of my favorites. The pictures are beautiful and the anecdotal stories were charming. Many memories of growing up in a Southern Baptist family were brought back to life - grandparent's house every Sunday after church, Wednesday night potlucks, homecoming, you get the idea :) I just made the Chicken & Wild Rice casserole to take to a church member who recently had surgery. It made enough for two 9x13 casseroles, so my husband and I got to enjoy one as well. It was outstanding. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for some cozy recipes and possibly a trip down memory lane!

wonderful

I have only used one of the recipes so far, it was just as described. I plan to use others during the holiday season. I really loved the articles decribing times in the past. the book is just what I expected it to be "WONDERFUL."The name absolutely describes the book.

Great Reading and Great Recipes!

This cookbook has quickly become one of my favorites of the hundreds of cookbooks that I own. All of the personal stories and anecdotes make for great reading an the recipes are simple, down-home, recipes that brings back fond memories of my childhood. I highly recommend it for the "Foodies" that you know.

Southern Living Comfort Food, A Delicious Trip Down Memory Lane

Absolutely wonderful book. It combines the Southern Living way of cooking with the old-fashioned way of cooking. The only thing that I would want more of are the stories (i.e., memories) about the past.
