Love Them Every Year

I buy these books every year (since 1979). It is a nasty habit which I know that I won't stop. I always try one or two recipes especially the cakes recipes. I love to look at the photos and enjoy the great cooking tips and ideas. But please be aware once you buy one of these books you are going to be hook and will be getting one every year!

An annual tradition

I've been purchasing Southern Living's Annual Recipes for over 20 years and I suppose I will do so the rest of my life. The books are beautiful and a delight to mull over when the baking or cooking mood strikes. My only nitpick, probably just because I'm getting older and don't like change, is that the format has changed and I don't feel as comfortable with it.

This book has a wonderful collection of recipes from the whole year. It also has suggestions for holiday menus. I buy this book every year!

Annual gift to the two "chef's" in my family

This is a gift that I have given my son and youngest daughter each year. They are both excellent home cooks and regard the Annual Recipe book as an essential. My former son-in-law is a professional chef and he often referred to the books for new ideas. If you are a regular cook, and have the bookspace, these are an essential cooking reference. Don't look at them though if you're hungry!!
