As always, Kendig has created a masterful plot line that kept me on the edge of my seat. There were times I was sure a beloved character was a traitor and times I thought a traitor might turn out to be a decent sort. In the end, Soul Raging is a satisfying conclusion to The Book of the Wars series.
I recommend Soul Raging to Ronie Kendig fans, and those who enjoy military fiction with a slice of romance. This is the third and final book in the series though so in order to fully grasp the dynamics of plot, characters, and setting, you should read these books in order.

An Explosive Ending To The Series!

Ronie Kendig is the QUEEN of suspense!
The Book of the Wars series has just floated to the top of my all time favorites list and it will take something truly spectacular to bump it from that spot. Let's be honest though, it will probably be another series by Ronie Kendig.
Soul Raging resumes with the major cliffhanger that we were left with at the end of Kings Falling and it was far from disappointing!
The final battle that is prophesied in the Book of the Wars is looming, will Reaper be able to stop it in time? Especially when Leif Metcalfe is fighting an excruciating battle, both internally and externally, that will play a major role in the fate of the entire world. Will the fall out from Leif's decisions turn Reaper against him for good? Or will the bond that they have built withstand the turbulent times ahead? There is a lot at stake and whether they can work together or not will make all the difference.
I'm keeping this review short because I don't trust myself not to give away anything good! Get yourself a copy of the book and find out for yourself. You will thank me for it later!
I was provided a free copy of the book by the publisher. All opinions are my own.
Heart-pounding conclusion to the series

"And wasn't that the point of salvation? The value placed on life, regardless of a subjective definition of worth?"
This conclusion to The Book of the Wars series is an incredible ride, filled with plot twists, plenty of battle, and betrayals upon betrayals that form a cohesive, complex, and intricately woven epic tale of good triumphing over evil even when stacked against impossible odds. This series definitely needs to be read in order to digest the details and to fully appreciate what makes Reaper team tick. This book has been on my list of most anticipated releases of 2020 and Ronie Kendig has truly outdone herself.
Spanning multiple countries, the Reaper team continues its search for the Armageddon Coalition and ways to bring down the its evil work to overtake the world. As the truth about Leif and the medically-enhanced soldiers spills out, the team is paralyzed and fractured when no one seems to be who they are supposed to be. There will be lots of gasps as pages are turned more quickly with each chapter to find out what happens next. And, yes, there is romance in the air, too, for several couples, which balances out the high-speed action nicely. This story is told through multiple third person narratives - Leif, Iskra, Mercy, Cell, Dru, Hermanns, and Veratti - and that helps gel the plot as the pieces click into place one at a time.
If you enjoy adrenaline-filled, masterfully woven suspense, you definitely want to read this book and the series. It's one of the best reads of 2020!
I received a copy of the book from Bethany House Publishing Group and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.
