Magical Powers

Just starting reading Mr. Wilson's book. On page 50. Can't put it down, well just for a minute to write this. Here at my job, I feel like his spirit is RIGHT in front of me.

A spiritual "walkabout" of the soul

The impossibility of the plot. I'll just say that sterotypes occur for a reason, and "impossible" is only considered until it happens. An excellent piece of fiction. This is an outstanding, amazing book, thoughtful, articulately written, filled with inspiration, wisdom, and depth. It is independent of your spiritual/religious learnings. It's not hard to find God in desperation, and God in desperation is not exactly God of the bible. Maybe the message is that though God at times seems cruel, ultimately God is love. Both sentiments are true. The book is 375 pages, I would have loved 750. I hope to read many more by Mr. Wilson BEFORE forced retirement. He managed to keep me from even thinking about putting the book down. His book lingered with me......

Inspirational and Exciting Novel

This novel is beautifully written and I found "Soul Eyes" to be extremely spiritual and inspiring. The story is about a young woman who possesses special healing and psychic powers. Olisa, the main character, as described through the eyes of her father, is portrayed as a female Jesus (or Goddess). What would happen today if a Christ-like figure were to appear in Venice Beach or anywhere to heal those in need both spiritually and physically. Would she or he be accepted as a blessing or accused of being a charlatan or devil? Olisa's message is the same simple message that Jesus preached, "Love one another." This message of love transcends religion and goes straight to what God intended - stop killing/fighting/hating one another and extend your hand in friendship. Even if you don't love one another, at least you can tolerate one another's differences. While speaking to a crowd at Venice Beach Olisa said, "I learned if we can find a way to put aside our own needs and learn to love, respect, and appreciate each other without expectation, miracles will happen." "We must truly learn to love ourselves and each other, and to forgive one another for the sins, the hurts we have perpetrated upon each other. Healing the spirit is the cure to all the world's ills." In another chapter, the author describes Olisa's spirit of love and generosity and suggests Los Angeles could actually "live up to its name and become the City of Angels." "Don't wait for government intervention when you can create your own miracles." For a moment, I forgot this was just a work of fiction and I thought wouldn't that be wonderful. After I began reading "Soul Eyes" I went to Venice Beach and walked along the boardwalk and toured the Venice Canals. What a wonderful experience to be able to become a part of the novel's backdrop. Soul Eyes is also quite suspenseful. I became so involved with the characters and story line that I found myself staying up late at night reading. Many thanks to author Wayne L. Wilson for a well-written, inspirational and exciting novel.

Celebrates family relations and spiritual healing

Enchanting novel celebrates family relations and love for fellow human being. Coming into complexities of nano world, we need to talk about family values and global unity concept as never before. What held me to the book was an intriguing flow of the content, but even more the richness of author's vocabulary and skillful communication. Author is a master of introducing and discussing sensitive private/public boundaries everyone is facing from time to time. Family-based decision making is the base and center piece of the novel. I loved the priorities there: subtle intimacy and gentle sarcasm, innocent joke and hidden agenda, open love and healing, internal struggle and resolution ... Thank you, Mr. Wilson, for writing the book and sharing a genuine treasure of family relations. Look forward to your next novel.

SOUL EYES REVIEW

I found the book to be provactive, educational and suspenseful. It took me into the Black Culture and offered a detailed account of history during the Riots of the 60's. Mr. Wilson has created some fascinating characters with substance and humor that pop off the page. He tells a wonderful story with poetry and heart. We have not heard the last from this exciting new author. I eagerly await his next publication with baited breath. Read the book and let him take you into his world. He has a unique voice and one that needs to be heard.
