Soul dance is a mystery romance, a fantasy set in the world of rock music of the 1970s.

Chyna Lawrence, a pop singer from New York, is hurt in a car accident that kills her two friends in 1969. She feels responsible for it. Still mentally affected a year later, she rents Ravenwood, a house in Virginia, for a couple of weeks. Feeling lost, she wonders if she can go on living. Getting away from her crazy life in New York might help her to heal.

Cal Rowan, a Californian rock star, struggles with memories of his experiences in Vietnam, and an abusive childhood. He feels empty. He needs peace. Getting away for a couple of weeks will help him find that peace.

Cal and Chyna will meet by chance; but of course, there's no such thing.
