The stories begin with a fantasy story about two struggling youngsters, Scott Jennings and Marie Walker, living in Chandlers Branch, West Virginia (which is a real mountain village.) Their meager combined incomes forced them to seek out ways to make ends meet. Then Marie recalled the reception after the death of her grandmother giving her an idea that would help them financially. Added to their story is a collection of short stories with Critic's favorite, "Class of '69," about two college students that find themselves stranded in the Amazon. Other stories are the offspring of challenges made by my membership in the very active Chesapeake Bay Writers who urged me to entertain them with my stories of unusual, odd, provocative, conclusions. My three short stories from the sea are based on true adventures from my log book of ten years living and sailing in the Caribbean Islands. The Chesapeake Skipjack, "Katy Lynn," was the boat that opened the door to my sailing adventures giving me the inspiration to go over the horizon. I hope "The Plan," will leave you thinking about your own, Plan. My stories have often been compared to the writing style of Stephan King and O'Henry.
