Book Overview

It's tough being fabulously wealthy Michael Stark's closest pal - particularly when you're an underpaid copywriter for feminine hygiene products, with a lousy apartment and no lover of your own. But Robert can't resist Michael, even though the man's motto is Money Can Buy Happiness. And reformed megaslut Michael can't resist strapping southerner Max Crawford, who has agreed to marry him in a wedding that promises to be New York's ultimate gay event...

A Comedic Mystery

The first book in a series of gay comic mysteries, Someone Killed His Boyfriend gets off to a very slow start. It is, however, rich in character development as the story unfolds. This is not a book for those who want a high body count, there is 1 murder and it doesn't happen until about half way through the novel. The book introduces Robert a pain looking, struggling ad man, Michael a conceited and wealthy bodybuilder, and Monette--a mystery novel goggling lesbian. The story starts in NYC and proceeds to Conneticuit and then finally Provincetown where the murder takes place. The book is well seated in it's time period with ample polical and topical references which are now only in the short term past. The book is a very entertaining and light read and I reccomend it for people looking for a comical mystery story about gay people.

Someone Killed His Boyfriend

I loved it! I could not only relate with the characters, but I actually know many people that the characters could have been based on! Michael, Robert and Monette are funny, the plot intriging and the situations very possible, if you don't believe be, try spending your next vacation in Provincetown. The book was witty, smart and had a good share of mystery. The plot was easy to follow and I was more interested in what was going to happen next, than to find out who the killer was. I didn't like the dead guy anyway.I can't wait to see what is coming next from this guy. Way to go Stukas!

Fun!

A readable, hilarious romp. I read it in a day while on vacation in Key West. A lot of fun!

Funny, funny, FUNNY!

It's not often that I'm laughing out loud while reading a murder mystery, but this one had me chuckling and guffawing as I turned the pages. I haven't enjoyed a mystery as much as this one in a long time. I can't wait to hook up with Michael, Robert and Monette again. I hope David Stukas is working on a new book. He's made a fan here!

Fun Read

If you like a breezy fun-filled not too serious mystery, then this for you. Characters are almost caricatures but are still the most enjoyable part of the book. I look forward to the next installment in this series
