All the information you need

The way the book reads shows that Bill is an experienced instructor and administrator on the subject of Solaris and UNIX overall. Reading it is like sitting at the table with Bill telling you everything you will need to know about Solaris. The book is concise and stays focused on its goal, don't let the 283 pages scare you, it's all there. It could easily be used as a classroom text in addition to a certification exam guide. This and book 2 will be on my shelf. Excellent job Bill!

Solaris 2.6 Administrator Certification Training Guide Part1

I did not know much about Solaris in general until I bought this excellent book. It is a great source of knowledge and gets straight to the point. It covers everything that you need to know to take the Solaris Part 1 exam. I have recommended this book to many of my work friends and six of them have already bought this book. This book has already helped me get my first Solaris System Administrator job. Well done Bill, Part 2 really soon, please.

Must have if you study for certification!!!!!

This is the best book I have seen in order to get well prepared for the certification test part I. I think the price should be double because the CD which comes along with the book is as valuable as the book itself. If you are planning to take the test read the book and then take the practice exam from the CD ROM until answering the questions doesn't make you think anymore. Taking the real exam will be a lough und you feel "at home" while taking the exam. I am very much looking forward to part II from which I know Bill is working on it at this very moment.

A clear introduction to Solaris administration

There are many good books on the basics of unix, but only a few good books on Unix administration. This books clearly covers the administration of Solaris Unix machines. It also helps to prepare the reader to pass the first part of Sun's tough Solaris Administration Certification Exam. While nothing beats experience, I've seen certification make a tremendous difference for job hunters.
