Social Studies Readers Theater

I ordered this as I was wanting to add Readers Theater to our homeschool. While I like the topics included in this one (all pertaining to American Folklore, uniquely American history), I didn't realize that these require making up the actual scripts. For instance, using a scene from a Laura Ingalls Wilder Little House book, it tells you which pages from the Little House book to use, then gives you instructions on how to organize the "cast" and organize the reading from the LH book. This isn't a bad thing, I just had assumed that this would be like the other Reader's Theater books I have that have the story actually scripted so you read straight from the Reader's Theater book. The flip side of this, however, is that I am learning much about how to create a Reader's Theater from ANY book...there's always an up-side, right?! And I do like the various subjects (Johnny Appleseed, etc..). Just be aware that it takes more preparation time. My kids really enjoy it so we will continue to use it.
