The Duke dandy and the Welsh revolutionary......

Gwynna Owen's fierce, uncompromising spirit-typical of her heritage as a Welsh islander-led her to disguise herself as a boy and set off in search of the Duke of Claremont....hoping to unravel secrets from her own past. My review: I loved the hero in this book! Instead of some muscle bound alpha male we have a supposed pink of the ton-an unapologetic fashion conscientious lord who is very much like the Scarlet Pimpernel. The reader quickly realizes that his unaffected personality is hiding something-though I won't spoil the surprise for you. His dialog is fantastic-witty and acerbic- and as a hero he is a 10 in my book. Gwynna was as great a heroine as Gideon was a hero-though her antics did get a bit annoying towards the end. I liked the way the heroines sexual past was dealt with-very realistically and tenderly-though I don't want to give away more. The love scenes are very sensual, and I applaud the author that they are told from Gideons point of view! All in all, a quick, interesting, sexy and unusual Regency/Historical romance. 4.5 stars.
