A week can quickly turn into the greater part of a year. "Snitch" is the reflections of a guidance counselor who accepted a position at an inner city middle school, thinking he would only have to deal with the position for a single week. He ended up doing 210 days. Author Jacob Turner (a pen name) reflects on a series of events during his time which tell the tale of what many of today's inner city schools face. "Snitch" is eye-opening and will make readers reconsider the value of today's schools.
Snitch is an Eye Opener

Snitch touched emotions that lay dormant within me for years. Being a former teacher, I am always concerned about the education of our children, particularly, those in inner city schools. Jacob Turner describes his experience as a counselor in an inner city middle school. He talks about an unprofessional administration and staff and unruly students. In some instances, role reversal takes place. Teachers display juvenile behavior, and students behave beyond there years. The actions of staff and students are shocking. Anger, sadness, surprise and laughter surfaced as I read page to page. Laughter? Yes! Jacob Turner's descriptions of characters and situations are quite funny. His wise use of humor does not lessen the seriousness of the snitching problem in schools today. Snitch is an eye opener. Everyone, educators, parents, students, neighbors and communities, should read it to create change for better schools.
I Can't Believe It

I can't believe things like this are going on in our inner city schools - middle schools no less. This book is captivating. If you care at all about our public education system, it is a must read. It is short and to the point, not long and drawn out. The incidents described are shocking, but Jacob Turner's larger points are equally shocking.
