Excellent pictorial and textual portrayal of the Snake River system

This is a very engaging and visually stunning account of the Snake River system and its development (both good and bad) over time and how these changes have affected the communities that live here in modern times and, more interestingly, how changes on the river have (and still do) affect native tribal communities. I am a fish and wildlife biologist so I bought this book after accepting a job with Corps of Engineers working on the Snake River projects. This book gave me a great foundation from which to start understanding how management on this river system has resulted in human triumphs as well as natural resource tragedies. And, the debate rages on and will for some years to come. I still don't understand what the initial blurb regarding "Havoc and Destruction" is in the listing for this book. It goes into no such detail about whatever this passage is from.
